PLATANUS ACERIFOLIA - LONDON PLANE
A large, reasonably fast growing tree with a spreading, tall habit and outreached branching. Leaves are large and maple-shaped, approximately palm-sized, with pointed tips, and are green in the summer and golden brown in winter. Hardy and very tolerant to urban conditions, their interesting colour and textured mottle-grey features on the trunk can be used ornamentally. Best suited in open area as a feature on the landscape. The large amount of leaf drop in winter and small hairs on the under leaf can cause irritation.
